Like any decent tour, let's start with the doors:
The mashrabiya doors to one of the rooms at Dar Dhiafa, on the Tunisian island of Djerba.
(Clockwise from top)
- The serenity of this traditional Tunisian courtyard in Carthage believes the cozy, contemporary interior.
- A plein-air "fortress" in Ibiza is the picture of spartan luxe.
- French interior decorator Francoise Smilenko's riad in Essaouira is a study overlapping texture and color.
- Another Ibizan retreat, crouched on the island's wooded hills, mixes traditional and modern architecture.
(And to conclude, I have a special treat in store from Tangiers, coming soon...)
