Narghile* chic et urbain, in gold and designed by Nedda El-Asmar from Airdiem. Photo courtesy of Tendance High Tech.
Not actually by an Arab designer (he's French), but found on the same site as some other designers already noted above, I love the lines of this movable writing desk and stool. By the Lyonnais designer Brac. Photo courtesy of Art des Hom.

And for those of you who are major suzani textile lovers, feast your eyes upon this creative Lebanese duo's website, Bokja Design. The designers are inspired by the many different textile styles of Central Asia, with a contemporary feel.

Hmm...in looking all this stuff over one last time, I'm thinking that given an unlimited budget, space and a long weekend, I could make a colorful and comfy living room to write, serve couscous in to friends and play music!
*I don't smoke, I don't care if you do or don't and I'm not advocating that anyone start by posting this; I appreciate the design of the object and the place that it holds in some cultures as a symbol of conviviality...Don't bother posting me about how it's bad for the health; we know already.

Oh my GOD I'm obsessed with everything here! That bookshelf and the couches especially...let's pool our imaginary money and have a joint imaginary living room!
Hi again!
I love the bookcase!!! Pity my walls are already full with (normal) bookshelves, I'd love this!!!
Re the narguilés: in France, where recently narguilé (or chicha) cafés have become very popular, they are worried because on 1st Jan. the law banning smoking is bars and restaurants comes into force......
Joan
Winona, sounds good, but Nick has to cook so that he can prove his much lauded cooking prowess.
Joan, hi again! Sounds like a big "oops"/bad investment plan on the part of some...but maybe they'll lobby to get a special permit for their establishments? At which point most of the other restaurateurs will march into the streets on strike that some people get to smoke in public while their clients don't...and then who knows, maybe Sarkozy will impose a non-smoking ban for everyone and tell them he knows what's best for the nation? (Excuse the rambling...)
I adore the furniture. Those colors and designs. I have some examples of cloth from Tajikistan and the color pallets and design motifs remind me of those.
Excellent.
Keep these posts coming

Hello everyone... I'm happy to read all that about the Zelli and the tea pot coz i'm actually the designer of those products... You can see other of my stuff at my website: www.extru-d.com and buy those products at Dar en Art. Anyway concerning the Zelli, there is a thing that the pic doesn't tell. The Zelli is made by the same form repeated 8 times... :) it makes the thing easy to build and easy to make...
Concerning the tea pot I made a prototype and it's really easy to use... contact me for more infos... I will be happy to answer to all your questions!
